Drawing-Beginning (Adult)

Instructor: Linda G. Hartman

Drawing is the basic skill of all art and it also sharpens the visual senses. Anyone can learn to draw and develop hand-eye coordination. Bring Newsprint drawing paper, selection of pencils and an eraser. Materials list is available.

Class A: Tues. June 17-Jul 8, 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. (4 weeks)

Class B: Tues. June 17-Jul 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m. (4 weeks)

Tuition: $40.00

Enrollment is limited to 8 participants.

 

Mixed Media (Adult)

PREREQUISITE: experience in drawing, and one painting medium. Instructor: Linda G. Hartman

Mixed Media is an exciting and experimental working practice that allows for the combination of likely and unlikely media. Participants will create 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional sculptural works of art incorporating such materials as wood, metal, glass, fabric, and found objects. Materials list is available.

Class A: Thursdays, June 19-July 10,11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (4 weeks)

Class B: Thursdays, June 19-July 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. (4 weeks) Tuition: $40.00

Enrollment limited to 5.

 

Basic Watercolor I

Instructor: Bonnie Lou Williams, watercolorist

Introduction to paper, paints, values, and basic techniques encompassing washes, wet­-on-wet, and mixing paints. Students will leave class with a finished painting

June 23, 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Tuition: $40.00 (includes class materials, you may bring your own brushes and paints) Limited to 10 participants

 

Basic Watercolor 2(Adults)

Includes techniques in wet-on-wet, dry brushing, mixing paints on paper and palette, glazing, lifting, and spattering. Work will be with transparent watercolors. Students will leave class with a finished painting.

July 12, 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Tuition: $40.00 (includes class materials, you may bring your own brushes and paints) Limited to 10 participants

 

Shrines of Remembrance (Adults)

Instructor: Michelle Schraub

In this workshop participants will use old family photographs and memorabilia to create a personal memory box or shrine to honor a loved one, using a variety of collage and embellishing techniques. Join us in learning about collage, stamping, photo transfer and a variety of other techniques as you create a truly personal "work of art. "

Class A: Tuesdays, June 17, 24, July 1 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Class B: Thursdays, July 10, 17, 24 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Tuition: (includes some materials) $45 Materials Fee: $10

Limited to 6 participants. Materials list will be sent upon receipt of registration.

 

Hand-made Greeting Cards (Adults)

Instructor: Michelle Schraub

In this one-day workshop participants will explore the art of hand-made greeting cards. Students will be able to select from several techniques and lots of "great stuff' to make and take three personalized greeting cards.

Class A: Friday, June 27 9:30-12:00 a.m.

Class B: Tuesday, July 22 9:30-12:00 a.m.

Tuition: $25 (Includes all materials)

 

Beginning Wood Carving. (Adults)

Instructor: Don Bommer

Participants will learn the basics of chip carving on wood, use and proper care of tools, complete a piece, and have the tools and skills to make wood carving a life- long hobby.

Class will be two sessions

Dates: To be announced, 6:30 p.m.

Tuition: $ 45 Materials fee: $25 (Includes your personal carving knife to keep) Enrollment limited to 6 participants.

 

Pinch Pots (Children age 5 and up & Adults)

Instructor: Pam Keith

Introduction to hand building clay. The ancient techniques of pinch forming to produce a variety of items both decorative and functional.

Children: July 7th & 9th from 9 - 10 a.m.

Adults: July 8th & 10th from 9 - 10 a.m.

Tuition: $10.00 with a $2 materials fee. .

Limited to 8 participants per class

 

Watercolor Painting (Children age- 7-14)

Instructor: Gwendolyn Listerman

Students will learn basic color theory while exploring wet in wet technique landscape, washes with straw blown effect, and the resist method.

3 sessions Saturdays 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.

Class A: (6/14 6/21 6/28) Class B: (7/12 7/19 7/26) Class C: ( 8/2 8/9 8/16)

Tuition: $40.00 plus $25.00 materials fee

 

Tile Mosaic Project- (Children Age7 and up)

Instructor: Gwendolyn Listerman

Participants will decorate two 6 inch terracotta pots with broken bits of tile and flat glass marbles. Bring something with you, if you like, to integrate into your design. 2- sessions Saturdays 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Class A: (6/21 & 6/28) Class B: (7/12 & 7/19) Class C: (8/2 & 8/9)

Tuition $40.00 materials included

 

Paper Mache Sculpture (Children age 7-12)

Instructor: D. Ellis Phelps

Sculpt an animal or object out of paper mache.

Monday-Thursday, June 23-26, 9-10:30 a.m.

Tuition: $40 plus $5 materials fee

Limited to 10 participants
